Solutions Architect
Key Responsibilities
- Creating solution designs for development teams that guide them during the implementation stages of each project emphasising the need for cohesive solutions through integration between the different systems
- Creating comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, API interfaces, data models and process flows.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technical solutions and platforms whilst ensuring that the solution meets performance, scalability and security requirements.
- Supporting business owners and IT Custodians in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire services or systems, including applications, technologies, processes and data.
- Keeping abreast with new and emerging technologies including cloud computing platforms, artificial intelligence and fintech platforms and be able to evaluate the potential of these technologies within the IT landscape of the organisation
- Facilitating effective communication within the various cross-functional teams within the Banks IT department including detailing the solution, verifying technology assumptions, assessing implementation alternatives and reaching a consensus on the ultimate solution.
- Ensuring optimal performance, security and cost-efficiency by proposing solutions based on best practices and through constant monitoring and re-alignment of the system architecture.
- Ensuring that all system designs and implementations are following the relevant enterprise architecture, data and information security governance controls and policies.

Required Experience:
- Previous proven experience of four (4) years in Information Technology, one (1) year of which managing a team, project or initiative.
Required Education:
- An MQF Level 6 Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area.
Educational Equivalent:
- An additional three (3) years in Information Technology.
Desirable Criteria:
- Applications Server Technology (IBM Websphere, Oracle Weblogic).
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Certification.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer Certification.
- Previous experience in web service development (SOAP XML, Resful APIs).
- Spring Certified Professional Certification
